apo.com Group launches new express solution for e-prescription redemption

With its new E-Rezept Express service, the apo.com Group is the first online pharmacy group in Germany to enable digital redemption of e-prescriptions without the need to install a complete app. Starting today, users of the online pharmacy apodiscounter.de and the health platform apo.com can open their e-prescriptions directly via the website, view them digitally in a matter of seconds and redeem them immediately. The new redemption method minimises barriers to accessing digital pharmaceutical care, which is particularly beneficial for occasional users and family carers.

E-prescription use without having to install the full app

Until now, e-prescriptions could only be redeemed via pre-installed apps. The new digital service from the apo.com Group overcomes this hurdle. iPhone users can access the new Express app with a single click on the website, allowing them to conveniently view and redeem their e-prescription without having to download a traditional app first. This saves storage space on the smartphone and keeps it tidy. Android users also have access to a straightforward and secure solution that reads the e-prescription from their health insurance card and transmits it to the online pharmacy.

The new service is aimed in particular at people who only need medication occasionally and therefore do not want to install an app permanently. E-Rezept Express also allows family members to quickly and easily read and redeem e-prescriptions, saving time and reducing the burden on parents and carers in their everyday lives, for example.

The redemption option is now available at apodiscounter.de and apo.com and will be communicated to existing and new customers through a broad-based online marketing campaign. Customers of the five other German online pharmacy brands of the apo.com Group will also have access to the new service in the coming weeks.
